About Me

Black at the Barn
Hi, my name is Steve Wood. Let me tell you my story and a little about working with a stubborn dog.
I grew up in a small town living close to the country, or at least a bicycle ride away, and like many young people, I had a deep love for dogs. Just about any kind would do but I remember very well my first dog, which was a beagle. I am sure if you are reading this article you are a pet lover as well and you can actually feel what I am saying when I say that I loved that dog with all my heart! This was not a stubborn dog at all except when on the hot trail of a rabbit!
As I grew older, one of my next dogs was a female golden retriever that was one of the smartest dogs I ever owned. It was like she could understand the English language. I loved so much when guest would come to our house and I could show them all the tricks she could do. Just to name a few; from my patio to her pen, I could command her to get on top of her dog house, inside the dog house or under the house and she would obey correctly every time. One other neat trick was to send her from her pen in the back yard to pick up the newspaper that had been thrown in the front yard. She was not a stubborn dog to train at all. We will get into the stubborn dog story a little later.
As I have grown older, my love for dogs has never changed. As you will see in a few pictures, one of my daughters has a heart for dogs as well. Maybe I will be able to get her to pin a few words on this blog about a stubborn dog because she has first-hand experience.
Thanks for stopping by my site and I hope you enjoy a few pictures and that you will pick up a few tips about teaching a stubborn dog to behave the way you would desire them to behave.
