Do you really have a stubborn dog or could it be that your dog just doesn’t understand English or whatever language you may speak? Do you understand what your dog is saying when it barks?

Imagine what it would be like if you knew how to train a  stubborn dog to become a well behaved dog around  other dogs and people? They would even sit still in your house and not jump on guest!

If this is you then read on because  you are just like I was before I came to understand a few things about stubborn dogs!

Did you know that dogs are much like people in that they are always learning. The problem is, many times they are learning BAD habits even as you are teaching them correct habits? If we are not careful in our training process, we could be doing harm.

If you have a disobedient dog that causes you stress or embarrassment then you need HELP now before you enforce bad habits that will be harder to correct.

I hope my sister doesn’t read this blog, but the last time I went to her house, her dog was all over me and my wife! We couldn’t even sit on the furniture without the dog jumping in our laps, jumping over behind us on the back of the couch, and just making our visit miserable. In fact, the next time I went to my mother’s house, she suggested we go over to my sisters, I said NO! Look, just because you love your dog dearly, doesn’t mean other people do as well!

When I discovered  ‘Secrets to Dog Training’ and especially a ‘Stubborn Dog’, it helped also to resolve all my dog’s behavior problems quickly and for good. These problems include aggression, biting, digging, barking, chewing, jumping, house training, whining, bolting out the front door, separation anxiety, pulling on the leash, and a lot more.

Here is an example of just one small lesson I learned that made a huge difference in the way I communicated with my dogs.

You should NEVER use the recall word (”COME”, or whatever word you choose) to call your dog to discipline him, correct him, tell him what a bad dog he is, or for any negative reason. Bad deeds MUST be caught IN THE ACT in order to correct. If you still need your dog by you for a negative reason, give him a firm SIT command and go get him.

Why is it important that you train your stubborn dog rather than have someone else do the job? The process of teaching a dog is as much a benefit for the owner as it is for the dog! Having been involved in many “hunt test”, it would be obvious many times that the dog wouldn’t know what to do because the handler didn’t know what they were doing. I have also been hunting with friends who had sent their dogs to a professional handler; they were constantly yelling at the dog and after the hunt they would complain about the sorry job that the trainer did. Knowing what I knew, I realized the dog was not performing well because the owner didn’t have a clue as to how to handle the dog. By the way, thought you might like this shot of me and Abe after winning a ribbon at a hunt test.
